the Kentucky Derby Party
Join us on Saturday, May 4th, (4-7 p.m.) as the Museum and Railroad Historical Center celebrates its first-ever Kentucky Derby Party!
We'll gallop into the event with a hat contest, food, music, bourbon tastings, a wine pull, games, train tours, and our own Railroad Derby. View the festivities live from Churchill Downs.
General Admission: $100

Family Fun Day
at the Train
Join us for our special annual event as we celebrate the season opening of Greenwood's Railroad Historical Center with a day of fun for the whole family.
In addition to tours of the seven historic train cars, enjoy rides on the Carolina Choo Choo, play in Jumping Jax inflatable, look for symbols with a hobo scavenger hunt, play vintage games, munch on free popcorn, and cool off with Geathers Italian Ice.

Friends of the Museum Dinner
A fundraiser dinner (donation suggestion $80) to support the upcoming events and exhibits — and to continue our mission to save. share, and celebrate the history of our wonderful city of Greenwood, South Carolina.

The Princess Tea
This years’ event will take place on July 20, 2024.
Once upon a time in Greenwood, South Carolina, every eligible young maiden was invited to attend a delightful tea party complete with a magical carriage and visits from real princesses!
Note: due to the popularity of this event, only one adult may accompany our young princesses.
The Museum’s Annual
Golf Classic
It’s tee time — all aboard for the annual Railroad Museum Golf Classic!
The golf tournament will take place on Tuesday, October 17th, 2023 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. (8:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. shotgun starts) at the Links at Stoney Point (709 Swing About Greenwood, SC 29649). This fun event will include four-man captain's choice; cash prizes; complimentary breakfast and lunch.

The North Pole Express
We believe!
Experience the magic of Greenwood's North Pole Express at the Railroad Historical Center on Saturday, December 9th, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Delight in The Polar Express performed by Greenwood High School Theatre students, ring the engine bell, and make an ornament.
All visitors will enjoy yummy snacks on the Dining Car while Santa's elves from Susie's Academy of Dance entertain you. Cost: $25.00.
