Everyone has a story – we’re here to celebrate and honor yours. For more than 50 years, The Museum has served the Greenwood community by capturing and showcasing the area’s rich and vibrant past. In fact, many of our exhibits feature items collected from our very own local residents.

It’s our honor to preserve these wonderful people, memories, and artifacts that built up our special city and made it what it is today.

The Doc Rhodes Gems and Minerals exhibit features gems and minerals from The Museum's own collection. This exhibit is dedicated to M.J. "Doc" Rhodes, a Museum volunteer who spent a great deal of his time educating children and sharing his love of gems and minerals with the public!

The Emerald City’s Gems

This incredible exhibit features animals from the North American Forest and the African Savanna. Come take a walk on the wild side and explore very realistic animal life and learn a few fun facts along the way!

A Walk on the Wild Side

Explore the life and customs of those in upstate South Carolina by learning about Native American and early settler culture up through the 20th century. Engage with hands-on exhibits including a cinema, a general store, a railroad depot, and more!

“This experience was overall great! They have attractions for all ages, with free admission. However, I know that the staff works hard to keep this lovely setting operated and clean so they do accept donations. This is located in beautiful downtown Greenwood and allows you to dip into the culture a little bit. A must see whether its a summer adventure for the locals or a touristy-stop in. Can't go wrong!”
